Americans expecting relief from the hard times of the Biden era shouldn’t get their hopes up.
The price of gas nationwide hit another all-time high this Memorial Day weekend, with drivers shelling out $4.62 on average per gallon at the pump, the Daily Caller reported.
Gas prices hit another record, nearing $5
Gas prices are up 44 cents since last month alone, and have climbed about $1.50 since last Memorial Day, when gas averaged $3.05, AAA said.
The nationwide average price of gas could surpass $5 a gallon by mid-June, an analyst from GasBuddy said. California has seen the highest prices, with some gas stations charging more than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 for a gallon.
Biden came into office boasting that “America is back,” but his mismanagement of the economy has hurt middle-class Americans and left many questioning his competence.
The doddering commander-in-chief has helped drive the energy crisis by targeting domestic oil production and adamantly refusing to encourage diplomacy to end the Russia-Ukraine war, which is shocking global energy markets.
Inflation is expected to cost Biden’s Democratic party heavily in the midterms this November, leaving Biden desperately seeking to pass the buck despite his campaign vow to take responsibility for his failures.
Biden makes excuses
Biden, who initially dismissed inflation as “transitory” before blaming Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, seemed to reach the logical endpoint of this pathetic exercise last week when he suggested that there is a bright side to gas becoming unaffordable for average people.
“We’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” he said.
As the standard of living for middle-class Americans continues to decline, Biden has retreated into a fantasy world, claiming despite the highest inflation in forty years, shortages in basic goods like baby formula, and lingering fears of a recession that he is responsible for a historic recovery.
As a last resort, Biden has sought to distract suffering voters by painting Republicans as “ultra-MAGA” extremists before the November elections.
These tactics don’t seem to be bearing fruit, with Biden’s approval numbers continuing to set record lows.
