Podcaster Joe Rogan lacerated Vice President Kamala Harris for her change of heart on marijuana policy as the vice president rallies behind imprisoned basketball star Brittney Griner.
Despite her past prosecutions of pot offenders, Harris has called for Griner to be “released immediately,” the Daily Mail reported.
Rogan blasts Harris’s hypocrisy
“That’s why the hypocrisy about the Brittney Griner situation was so egregious in this country,” Rogan said on his podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience.
“Where Kamala Harris is talking about how horrible it is that Brittney Griner is in jail,” Rogan said. “Well, you put people in jail. You did. Thousands of people in jail for marijuana. Yeah, it’s crazy.”
This isn’t the first time Harris has been criticized for her positions on drug policy. She was accused of taking a draconian approach to drug enforcement during her short-lived 2020 presidential campaign, which saw Harris embrace the progressive orthodoxy on pot and call for the drug’s legalization.
Rogan pulling no punches
“How come you guys didn’t exonerate people that were in jail for marijuana when you said you were going to?” Rogan asked. “They said that they were going to make marijuana federally legal,” he said.
Despite his views on pot, the libertarian-minded Rogan has often criticized Democratic party orthodoxy on his top-rated podcast, enraging the woke left.
He is facing calls from libs to boycott his show after he announced that he will vote Republican in the midterms, citing the Democratic party’s COVID tyranny.
The Biden administration has controversially offered to swap Griner, a Black Lives Matter activist who the White House considers “wrongfully detained,” for a Russian arms dealer.
