House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has plenty of fans among Americans on the left, including one outspoken co-host of ABC’s The View.
During a recent interview, Joy Behar made clear that she is hoping for the day that Pelosi becomes president, as reported by Fox News.
“That sounds really good”
Both Pelosi and Behar have expressed a common disdain toward President Donald Trump — and their opprobrium converged on Wednesday morning during a wide-ranging on-air interview.
The conversation began with a glowing introduction of the House speaker by an obvious supporter.
“I’m dreaming of the day when we can say ‘President Nancy Pelosi,'” Behar said to an approving laugh from her guest. “I think that sounds really good.”
Later in the interview, they discussed the perceived plans of the Trump administration to “steal” the upcoming election — possibly with the help of Russian operatives.
“Well, I’m concerned, but my motto is ‘We don’t agonize, we organize,'” Pelosi said. “And I have no doubt that in typical fashion of lie, cheat, and steal to win this election. So we are prepared for that. I’m sorry to have to say that … but that is the reality.”
One question that he refused to answer”
The panel’s anti-Trump rhetoric escalated further when the topic of discussion turned to the president’s fitness to serve.
Following his positive coronavirus test result and subsequent hospitalization, Pelosi has furthered speculative theories that the virus, combined with steroids used to treat it, could be clouding his judgment. There have also been multiple reports outlining a possible path for Pelosi to take over as commander in chief if COVID-19 continued to spread throughout the administration.
The day after her appearance on The View, Pelosi fed the rumors that Trump might be too sick to serve as president by raising the possibility of 25th Amendment provisions allowing for the removal of a sitting president under certain narrow conditions.
“I think that the public needs to know the health condition of the President,” she said on Thursday. “There’s one question that he refused to answer … when was his last negative test?”
Of course, Trump shot back on behalf of himself and his supporters across the country, announcing that “Crazy Nancy is the one who should be under observation.”
