Conservative commentators like Victor Davis Hanson have argued that if Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is elected, then his running mate — California Sen. Kamala Harris — will be the one who’s really in charge. In a speech on Saturday, Harris appeared to confirm that suspicion.
As seen in video footage tweeted out on Monday by journalist Raheem Kassam, California Sen. Kamala Harris slipped up during a speech and spoke of “a Harris administration, together with Joe Biden.”
“The mask slips,” Kassam captioned the clip. Watch:

“The Biden-Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners,” Harris corrected herself, as seen in a longer clip shared by Real Clear Politics.
But wait, there’s more…
Just a couple of days later, Biden made a similar gaffe, referring to a “Harris-Biden administration” during a speech in Florida on Tuesday. “A Harris-Biden administration is going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing further to make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers to ensure teachers know how to support military children in their classrooms and to improve support for caregivers and survivors so much more than we do now,” Biden said. Will Biden make it to a first term?
Critics of Biden, 77, have alleged that he is mentally incompetent and too old to serve as president, and they point to a deluge of almost non-stop gaffes and verbal missteps that have plagued the former vice president since he entered the race last year. At one point he even told supporters in South Carolina that he was running for a seat in the United States Senate and that those who didn’t agree with him could “vote for the other Biden.”
During a campaign stop in 2019, Biden spoke with journalists about how much he appreciated being back in Vermont. He was standing in New Hampshire at the time.
Just before making his victory speech after scoring a victory on Super Tuesday, Biden managed to mix up his wife and his sister, each of whom was on the podium next to him.
On other occasions, the former vice president has seemed to descend into near gibberish, such as when he addressed a gathering of Teamsters Presidential Candidate Forum last fall. “And the third thing is, last year alone $1.2 billion in overtime was denied by–for hourly workers who were not unionized,” he said. “One point 2 billion. So, you go ahead and stack spaghetti sauce at a store and a supermarket. You control the guy or the woman who runs the–who brings out the carts on a, on a forklift. What happens? They make you management. You can’t get paid overtime.”
