As partisan animosity continues to grow, some experts fear that the United States could be on the verge of descending into a second civil war.
Far-left comedian Kathy Griffin recently suggested so as well. In a statement that many took as a threat, she warned that if Republicans win this fall then the country can expect bloodshed.
If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican.

Conservatives see Griffin’s words as an attempt to intimidate
Griffin’s words set off an online firing storm, with many conservatives seeing her comment as an attempt at intimidating voters. One of them was Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who tweeted that the comic represents an “angry, hateful & violent” left-wing movement.
This is WRONG.
Crazy Hollywood Leftie threatening “Civil War” if Dems don’t win.
Sadly, this is today’s Left: angry, hateful & violent. https://t.co/CyP0AJEKxv

Griffin later put out another tweet in which she seemed to suggest that it is actually conservatives who are clamoring for a civil conflict.
“You guys. The maga blue checks are at it again. Because they are constantly threatening Civil War, they are now trying to suggest that I am the one who is threatening a Civil War. Because you know, that’s my thing,” she declared.
However, many Twitter users brought up the fact that in 2017, Griffin tweeted a photo of herself holding up a mock severed head meant to look like then-President Donald Trump.

Joe Biden accused of pushing conflict with controversial speech
The Daily Mail noted that she went on to tweet the image out again in 2020 following Trump’s claims that his election loss was the result of fraud.
Griffin is not the only one to be accused of stirring up conflict, as critics accused President Joe Biden of doing the same with his controversial speech in Philadelphia last week.
However, some on the left appeared to embrace the civil war theme, with Fox News reporting that MSNBC analyst Eugene Robinson praised Biden’s remarks as being an “urgent wartime address.”
