Kathy Griffin suspended from Twitter for impersonating Elon Musk

Five years after she posted a notorious photo depicting Donald Trump’s bloodied, severed head on Twitter, unhinged liberal comedian Kathy Griffin has finally been suspended from the website for violating its policy against impersonation.

Griffin was banned for impersonating Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, in protest of the more democratic direction he is taking the company.

Kathy Griffin suspended

Liberal journalists and celebrities have been throwing a fit over Musk’s takeover, including his plans to curtail censorship and make the coveted blue checkmark indicating a user is “verified” available to anyone for $8 per month.

Griffin’s account was promptly removed after she changed her Twitter name to “Elon Musk,” although her Twitter handle remained the same. Musk made clear in a tweet Sunday that users who impersonate others would be banned without warning.

“Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue.”

Musk cheekily added that Griffin was suspended for “impersonating a comedian” and said she could have her account back if she is willing to pay for it.

Liberal meltdown over new Twitter

Griffin was never banned for posting the infamous, violent Trump photo, which she initially shared in 2017 and then re-shared in 2020 following that year’s presidential election. The tweet was flagged “potentially sensitive”, but Griffin was otherwise free to post.

Trump, on the other hand, was banned from Twitter while still a sitting president after the January 6th, 2021, riot. The left is dreading the possibility of his return, but Musk has said Trump won’t get his account back for “weeks” at least.

In the meantime, some blue checked liberals are threatening to leave the site, much as Hollywood stars said they would flee the U.S. after the 2016 election, while others are pledging to stay, comparing themselves to Ukrainians fighting off Russia’s invasion.

Whoopi Goldberg was the latest Trump-deranged celebrity to announce she is departing the front lines on Monday.

Musk laid off about half of Twitter’s workforce on Friday, prompting leftist groups to dial up an advertise boycott.
