Kenny Chesney fan dies during Colorado concert

After learning that a fan had passed away while attending one of his shows in Colorado, country music star Kenny Chesney said he was “devastated.”

On Saturday in Denver, Chesney, 54, had a performance at Empower Field at Mile High.

Several stories state that a woman fell from an escalator railing after the event and died as a result, according to a report by Fox News.

Police informed The Denver Post that the woman was seated on the escalator railing when she fell to the concourse below.

Police are looking into the incident as an accident because they don’t think she was pushed, according to the site.

Authorities have not released the woman’s name.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident,” a statement from Empower Field at Mile High said.

According to the outlet, Chesney said he was “devastated” after learning about the woman’s death.

“I was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show,” he said in a statement. “There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night — and to hear this is heartbreaking.

“Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more. For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words. For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them and for them.”

Eight more cities are on Chesney’s “Here and Now Tour.” In Foxboro, Massachusetts, he will conclude the series of performances.
