‘Liars!’: Trump slams Pelosi, Democrats over ‘scam’ impeachment

President Donald Trump may have spent the Christmas holiday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, but that doesn’t mean he took a break from the never-ending political fight.

In a series of tweets this week, the president called out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her Democrat colleagues for being “liars” and “hypocrites” when it comes to their “scam” impeachment effort, Fox News reported Thursday.

On Christmas Day, President Trump fired off a pair of tweets aimed directly at Pelosi and her handling of the highly partisan articles of impeachment against Trump, which were passed by the Democrat-controlled House earlier this month but have yet to be forwarded to the Republican-controlled Senate for a trial, according to ABC News.

“Why should Crazy Nancy Pelosi, just because she has a slight majority in the House, be allowed to [i]mpeach the President of the United States?” Trump wrote on Twitter. “She said it must be ‘bipartisan…[and] overwhelming,’ but this Scam Impeachment was neither… Hypocrites!”

The following morning, Trump upped the ante with another tweet aimed at the House speaker that highlighted the urgency with which the Democrats pushed the articles of impeachment through the House, only for Pelosi to now be sitting on them, refusing to turn them over to the Senate.

Trump wrote:

“A very sad sight”

The president still wasn’t finished with the Dems and Pelosi, however. According to Fox, he went on to rip the speaker’s home district in California, which covers San Francisco, noting how crime and homelessness in the region has gotten out of hand.

Nancy Pelosi’s [d]istrict in California has rapidly become one of the worst anywhere in the U.S. when it come[s] to the homeless [and] crime,” Trump tweeted Thursday. “It has gotten so bad, so fast — she has lost total control and, along with her equally incompetent governor, Gavin Newsom, it is a very sad sight!

From slamming Pelosi as a liar to calling out the speaker for how horrible her home district has become, the president clearly didn’t take a break from the political war over the Christmas holiday.

He can’t really be blamed for it, either; any day he’s not on the offensive is a day in which the Dems’ incessant attacks will go unanswered. And they certainly won’t stop their relentless assault for the holidays.
