‘Lock the Bidens up,’ Trump tells Georgia campaign rally

President Trump announced on Friday that former vice president Joe Biden and son Hunter Biden should serve jail time for allegedly accepting payments from the Chinese and Ukrainian government.

Trumps’ comments appear to be in reference to the revelation that Hunter Biden accepted cash from the Chinese and Ukrainian government in exchange for introducing government officials to his father, who was vice president of the United States at the time

Lock them up

Echoing the Trump campaign’s unofficial slogan of the 2016 campaign — “Lock her up,” in reference to then-opponent Hillary Clinton — Trump told a group of supporters in Macon, Georgia on Friday night that the Bidens should be “locked up.”

Trump told the crowd:

I talked about the Moscow three-and-a-half million payment. I talked about the billion dollars [from China]. Chris Wallace wouldn’t let that… He said, no, that’s not appropriate. Why? You mean the guy’s allowed to take three and a half a million bucks and we’re not allowed to talk to him about it? I’m telling you, that Biden family… And others, but that Biden family is corrupt. It’s a corrupt family.

As the crowd responded, “lock them up,” Trump continued, “And with me and my kids… Let me tell you, my kids… I’ll tell you something. [Laughs] Lock them up. You should lock them up. Lock up the Bidens. Lock up Hillary. Lock them up. Can you imagine if my kids did what this guy Hunter is doing?”

Though Trump appeared to be making a facetious statement on Friday, the evidence contained within Hunter Biden’s laptop that was published by the New York Post earlier this week could give rise to a criminal investigation into the Biden family’s alleged abuse of its power during Biden’s time in the White House.

Calls for criminal investigation

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) called on the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into the Biden family dealings on Friday, tweeting: “The DOJ/FBI needs to open a criminal investigation into the Biden Family’s global pay to play operation.”

According to a Fox News report, allegations that “outline a payout for former Vice President Joe Biden as part of a deal with a Chinese energy firm” were independently confirmed by a person that was included on the email thread.

Fox reported:

One email, dated May 13, 2017, and obtained by Fox News, includes a discussion of ‘remuneration packages’ for six people in a business deal with a Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Biden as ‘Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC,’ in an apparent reference to now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co. The email includes a note that ‘Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate.’ A proposed equity split references ’20’ for ‘H’ and ’10 held by H for the big guy?’ with no further details. Fox News spoke to one of the people who was copied on the email, who confirmed its authenticity.

The Biden campaign has made little effort to actually deny the claims that could lead to such an investigation, preferring instead to rely on allies in the media to do the work for the Democrat presidential candidate.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) also announced on Saturday that Joe Biden must answer the rapidly multiplying questions about his role in Hunter Biden’s questionable overseas dealings.

As the allegations against the Biden family are authenticated and questions arising from the revelations continue to rise, expect an even greater push to finally open a real investigation to find out the extent of the Biden family’s abuse of the elder Biden’s former office.
