House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) warned that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas could be impeached.
McCarthy shared the strong words during a trip over the weekend to the nation’s southern border.

The Minority Leader emphasized that Mayorkas has 30 days until the end of Title 42 and must find a way to secure the border quickly.
“What’s more important than something that happened 15 months ago on a private conversation with about four other people is what’s happening here right now,” McCarthy said, according to The Hill.
“This is his moment in time to do his job. But at any time if someone is derelict in their job, there is always the option of impeaching somebody,” McCarthy added.
Only getting worse
McCarthy also addressed the border crisis during a Fox News interview this week from the border.
“It’ll go from 7,000 a day to 18,000…We could stop this. This is all being created by what Biden’s actions have been…I think the president should be here and actually see what’s going on,” the congressman said.

The trip also comes shortly after a Texas National Guardsman lost his life seeking to rescue two migrants illegally crossing the Rio Grande River at Eagle Pass on Friday.

The problems continue to grow for Mayorkas, and his days may be numbered either by Republican impeachment if the party gains an advantage in the House in November.
