‘The work has already started’: McCarthy says Trump ‘committed’ to helping GOP midterm candidates

Despite strained relationships between former President Donald Trump and many within the Republican Party establishment, he has indicated a willingness to remain an influential force within GOP politics.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently confirmed after a meeting with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida that the 45th president is committed to assisting the party in its efforts to reclaim a congressional majority in next year’s midterm elections.

“House Republicans defied the experts”

According to the Post Millenial, McCarthy, who appears to have developed a genuine friendship with Trump, issued a public statement this week to reveal certain details from their private meeting.

“House Republicans and the Trump administration achieved historic results for all Americans,” McCarthy proclaimed. “We were able to do this because we listened to and understood the concerns of our fellow citizens that had long been ignored. As a result, House Republicans defied the experts and the media by expanding our growing coalition across the country.”

As the House GOP leader noted, Trump has vowed to continue working on the party’s behalf by “helping elect Republicans in the House and Senate in 2022.”

By securing a majority on Capitol Hill, McCarthy argued that Republicans “will listen to our fellow Americans and solve the challenges facing our nation.”

His statement also included pointed criticism of the Democratic Party, claiming that its members “have only put forward an agenda that divides us — such as impeaching a President who is now a private citizen and destroying blue-collar energy jobs.”

“Very good and cordial”

McCarthy insisted that the Democratic “agenda must be stopped” in favor of a right-wing platform that “will strengthen the bonds of our citizens and uphold the freedoms our country was founded on.”

CBS News reported that the meeting between Trump and McCarthy was described as “very good and cordial” by members of the former president’s team, explaining that the two discussed “many topics, number one of which was taking back the House in 2022.

“President Trump has agreed to work with Leader McCarthy on helping the Republican Party become a majority in the House,” asserted the Trump-aligned Save America PAC. “They worked very well together in the last election and picked up at least 15 seats when most predicted it would be the opposite. They will do so again, and the work has already started.”

The development came after reports that Trump had been considering the creation of a third party for a potential re-entry into politics and McCarthy’s statement effectively debunked such rumors.

As the Save America PAC concluded: “President Trump’s popularity has never been stronger than it is today, and his endorsement means more than perhaps any endorsement at any time.”

  1. I love that he is going to be in there. I do hate though that the Democrats have done him so horrid and getting by with it. I have been waiting for something to happen to them

  2. We just have to hope that there’s something left to vote for and any future election won’t mirror Nov 3 2020! The dems will have another 2 years to find a way to cheat on all coming elections. GOD HELP US!!!!

  4. Trump has several rhino’s bucking him, it won’t be easy, and with the impeachment still a threat, he has a troubling next few days ahead. BTW, if ‘they’ can impeach a previous President, then the GOP should impeach obama!

  5. The Democrats have 2 years to rewrite the election laws for the whole country. I’m afraid that the only way to fix it is take the next step. That may be sooner then we think. Biden is already working on confiscating guns. That in itself may trigger something that, so far, has been unthinkable. Jefferson said “ the tree of liberty must be irrigated regularly with the blood of Patriots”

    1. You got it Owen! Stop it NOW or get ready to be put in the FEMA death camps. Do you really think that these were built for national emergencies? Look how they are constructed. Double fences with concertina and they just happen to be adjacent to railroad spurs. Can you say Auschwitz or Treblinka. After all, we are domestic terrorists that need to be eliminated. MOLON LABE

  6. THE DONALD appears to be the only Republican left to have total integrity; Some others have some and the many RINOS have none; It truly is time for term limits in congress.

  7. I’m grateful that Trump is still willing to help his fellow Americans fight the Democrats after all he endured his four years. We need leadership like Trump that will fight for God Family& Country.

  8. Mr Trump…. beware of McCarty…. not a true Trumper. Would rather see Jim Jordan of Ohio the Minority Leader, then Majority.

  9. Sorry to say this. I like McCarthy but he is an Establishment chess piece and seriously after the Speaker Chair. The team helped Donald get most of the record-breaking actions taken to make America Great Again.

  10. McCarthy may just be a republican sellout like every other swamp creature !!!!! I personally will not donate another penny to the republican party because I do not know where my money is going, I will NOT support a CHEYNEY,ROMNEY ,KINZINGER and many others ,instead I will send my donations right to the candidates campaign I want to endorse, I do not trust anyone of these people in the party unless I scrutinize their agendas first and know where they stand first, Ronna. McDANIEL is a prime example , her being ROMNEYS niece is a problem to me ,she is just another flip flop as far as I am concerned
