Poll shows majority believe media covered up Hunter Biden scandal

Alarms began to sound at least two years ago about the questionable international business dealings of Hunter Biden, only for those warnings to be dismissed and suppressed by the mainstream media and Big Tech social media platforms, particularly during the final months before the 2020 election.

A recent poll shows that a majority of Americans believe the media deliberately downplayed and covered up any negative reporting about Hunter Biden in order to assist the presidential aspirations of his father, former vice president and presumptive President-elect Joe Biden, Breitbart reported.

That same poll also revealed that an even larger majority of Americans believe it’s likely that Biden both consulted with his son about his foreign business dealings and profited from them.

Media helped Biden get elected

The findings are from the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, which polled 1,000 likely U.S. voters between Dec. 13-14 and had a margin of error around 3% and a confidence level in the results of around 95%.

Fifty-two percent of those polled said that the mainstream media had ignored stories about Hunter Biden in order to help Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. Meanwhile, 32% said the media ignored the stories because they were partisan hit jobs without merit.

The poll also found that 56% believe it was likely that Biden had consulted with his son and profited from his business deals, including 43% who believed it was “very likely” that had occurred. Only 38% thought it was unlikely and 22% said it was “not at all likely.”

Foreign business deals

Despite the media efforts to bury the stories, roughly 70% of voters closely followed the stories, including 38% who were “very closely” keeping track of the news surrounding Hunter Biden.

Of that 38%, 76% believe the media “deliberately” ignored the story prior to Election Day and 72% believe that Biden had some measure of involvement and profit in his son’s financial arrangements.

As expected, there was a partisan divide in Rasmussen’s results, with more Republicans and independents believing the worst about the media and the Bidens than Democrats. However, there were substantial minorities of Democrats who felt that the media had done the American people a disservice and that the Bidens were corrupt.

More scandal

With regard to the question of whether the media deliberately buried the Hunter Biden story to help Joe Biden, 78% of Republicans agreed, as did 46% of independent voters and even 32% of Democrats. Likewise, 73% of Republicans, as well as 36% of independents and 21% of Democrats, believed it was “very likely” that Biden had consulted with his son and profited from his international business ventures.

Breitbart noted that these poll results constituted yet another dark cloud of scandal hanging over Biden ahead of his prospective term in office, sharing space with other scandalous clouds like his obviously declining mental and physical capabilities and the widespread perception that his “victory” came via ballot fraud and election procedure irregularities.

The American people know that many things are not right with Biden, and the media covering up and refusing to address those legitimate concerns is going to be a major problem going forward.
