Illegal migrant contradicts VP Harris claim that border is ‘secure;’ confirms border is ‘open,’ he entered ‘illegally’

Vice President Kamala Harris proclaimed during a recent interview that the nation’s southern border was “secure,” even as all accounts indicate record numbers of illegal border crossings by migrants and smugglers.

Some of those illegal immigrants ended up outside the Washington D.C. residence of VP Harris this week, and one of them completely humiliated and undermined Harris by revealing that, contrary to her claims, the border is far from secure and is, in fact, wide open, the Conservative Brief reported.

Harris says “the border is secure”

It was last week that Vice President Harris, who was tasked by President Joe Biden last year to address the border security and illegal migration issues, sat for a wide-ranging interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd that included mention of the border and immigration.

In response to a question about whether the border was secure, Harris first called on Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation and then declared, “The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.”

Todd noted estimates that more than two million migrants would cross the border this year and then asked again, “You’re confident this border’s secure?” Harris reiterated, “We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration. But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years.”

Illegal migrant contradicts Harris outside VP residence

To draw attention to the unsecured southern border over the past several months, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has been sending voluntary busloads of newly arrived illegal migrants to Democrat-run “sanctuary” jurisdictions like New York City and Washington D.C.

On Thursday, according to Fox News, that included two busloads that dropped off around 100 migrants outside the gates of the vice presidential residence at the Naval Observatory in D.C., and one of those migrants told a reporter the exact opposite of what Harris had said just days earlier about the security status of the southern border.

“It’s open, not closed. The border is open,” the migrant said. Asked if others felt the same way, the man agreed and said, “Yeah, everybody agrees that the border is open. It’s open because we enter. We come in, free, no problem.”

As to whether he and others entered the country legally or illegally, the migrant confirmed, “Illegally, yes, that’s true … We came illegally, not legally.”

The border is most definitely NOT “secure”

Before that interview with the migrant outside the Naval Observatory, the Washington Examiner also took VP Harris to task for her provably false assertion about the border being “secure” and highlighted the record-level numbers of illegal entrants who were apprehended, those who evaded capture, and those who died while crossing the border since President Biden and Harris took office.

That is largely due to the policies of Biden, Harris, and the current Democratic-controlled Congress, the Examiner noted, “But if Republicans take the House, or the House and the Senate, they must use the power of the purse to force Biden to change his border policies. Otherwise, more immigrants will come, more immigrants will die, more chaos will spread at the southern border, and Kamala Harris will smile and tell us the border is still secure.”
