Mistrials and not guilty verdicts announced for men involved in Whitmer kidnapping plot

News of a mysterious and wild plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was all the rage in the lead-up to the 2020 election.

However, according to the Washington Examiner, Democrats — namely President Joe Biden’s Justice Department — suffered a major loss this week after it was announced that two of the suspects involved in the alleged plot were acquitted, and the other two were issued a mistrial.

The loss is especially embarrassing and critical for the FBI, which has long been accused of having “conceived and controlled every aspect” of the plot through the use of multiple informants it had inserted into the groups involved.

The men involved were reportedly members of Three Percenters and Wolverine Watchmen militia groups, and because of the verdicts and the mistrial, new questions are now being raised as to whether or not the men allegedly involved were subject to federal entrapment.

The details

It was on Friday afternoon that a jury found Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta not guilty on charges related to plotting to kidnap Gov. Whitmer.

Harris was also acquitted of other firearms and explosives charges, which undoubtedly would have greatly enhanced a sentence had he been found guilty.

The two men have been imprisoned for two years following their arrest, and will be immediately freed, the Examiner reported.

The “ringleaders”

Adding extra embarrassment on behalf of Biden’s DOJ and the FBI is the fact that the two supposed leaders of the operation, Adam Fox and Barry Croft, were unable to be found guilty by a jury, with the judge in the case declaring mistrials for both men.

They could be tried again, but even so, the mistrial marks yet more embarrassment for the FBI, which reportedly had at least one dozen informants in the militia groups.

Defense attorneys for the men argued that the plot to kidnap the Michigan governor originated with the FBI’s men inside, and not the other members of the group.

Others believe that the FBI was significantly more involved than what has been reported, but only time will tell if America ever finds out the full truth.
