What’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a liberal say about those who oppose COVID-19 vaccines or vaccine mandates? It probably wasn’t as crazy as what an MSNBC guest just actually said on live television.
According to Breitbart, a recent MSNBC guest called for drone strikes against Americans who, for whatever reason, are against COVID-19 vaccine mandates, especially those who have large, influential platforms.
He actually said it
The man who suggested that dissenting opinions regarding COVID-19 vaccine mandates is Frank Schaeffer, the author of Why I Am an Atheist Who Believes in God. Schaeffer made the bizarre and outlandish comment in a message that he tweeted on Friday, which has since been deleted.
“Anti-vaccine and anti-mask anti-science conspiracy theory-spreading leading activists are bio terrorists. Period,” Schaeffer wrote. “They should be treated as such. Drone strikes on selected worst offender pod-casters anyone?”
It is unclear to who exactly Schaeffer was referring. However, it would be reasonable to presume he was pointing his finger at legendary podcaster Joe Rogan, who has very much been against vaccine mandates and even vaccinations for some groups of people.
Rogan recently contracted COVID-19, but quickly recovered — to the left’s openly expressed dismay. But, to be clear, we can’t say for certain whether Schaeffer was referring to Rogan.
Schaeffer’s comment came after President Joe Biden this week announced a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for companies that employ more than 100 employees. Biden wants those companies to either force vaccinations upon their employees or, if they refuse, subject them to weekly COVID-19 testing — an undoubtedly pricey proposition.
Biden has received loads of criticism not only for the mandate announcement but for the sort of language he used during the announcement. At one point, addressing unvaccinated Americans, Biden said: “We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us.”
Biden added: “This is not about freedom or personal choice. It’s about protecting yourself and those around you — the people you work with, the people you care about, the people you love.”
Schaffer is a nut
Schaeffer has a bit of a history of making outrageous statements.
Just last week, for example, during an appearance on MSNBC, Schaeffer referred to pro-lifers who support Texas’s recently passed Heartbeat Act as the “American Taliban.” Schaeffer went on to say people, including children, are dying “because pro-lifers have seen fit to stand against Joe Biden’s vaccine as a way to own the libs, and their price is to be literally bioterrorists.”
Don’t look for the logic in any of this: there is none. On the bright side, at least the pandemic is apparently helping to expose the mentally unstable within the ranks of the mainstream media.
