Despite being a card-carrying member of the liberal elite, it looks like Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Ca.) husband will face consequences for drunk driving after all.
Napa Valley prosecutors have charged Paul Pelosi, 82, with two misdemeanors after he crashed his car during a Memorial Day weekend joyride in California’s wine country, Breitbart reported.
Paul Pelosi is facing charges for drunk driving
The decadent venture capitalist was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving with a .08% blood alcohol level or higher causing injury.
Pelosi had a BAC of .082 percent when he was booked the night of May 28. He was coming home from a dinner party to a vineyard that he and his wife — who are multi-millionaires — own in Napa Valley when he blew a stop sign. Pelosi crashed his Porsche into another person driving a Jeep.
The Napa Department of Corrections released a booking photo. Pelosi is due in court on August 3. He was released within hours of his arrest after posting $5,000 bail.

The authorities have pushed back on claims from the right that charges were dropped against Pelosi.
“There’s been bad information pushed out and sometimes the rumors can, they travel quickly on social media,” Henry Wofford, public information officer for the Napa County Sheriff’s office, said.
Not skating after all?
Likely aware of public skepticism, DA Allison Haley seemed to go out of her way to emphasize that the case is being handled fairly. The charges, she said, are consistent with those in similar cases.
“Under California law, these charges can be filed as a misdemeanor or felony. Based upon the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim, the
District Attorney filed misdemeanor charges. This decision is consistent with how our office handles these cases with similar injuries.”
Pelosi faces fines and fees, five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, having an ignition interlock device installed in his car, and court-ordered drunk driver classes.
It looks like Napa is trying to send a message that even ruling class oligarchs like the Pelosis are not above the law. Still, the police have not released the bodycam footage from the arrest, saying it would “jeopardize” the case. Are the authorities sparing Pelosi embarrassment?
