New book claims Biden relatives sought to profit from family’s ‘public service’

The Biden family has long been linked to accusations of profiting off of President Joe Biden’s long tenure as a prominent Democratic politician.

A new book promises to expose new details about the prominent cracks in the family’s self-styled portrait of a middle-class family.

Tell-all book delivers

Author Ben Schrekinger writes of one supposed venture between Biden’s brother Jim and son Hunter to profit off the then-senator’s “public service.”

It was during Biden’s subsequent term as vice president that some of his family’s most brazen acts of corruption are alleged to have taken place — most notably Hunter’s business ties to Ukraine and China.

According to Schrekinger’s book, The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power, the family began trading on Biden’s political influence many years earlier.

In 2006, for example, Jim and Hunter reportedly bought a hedge fund, Paradigm Global Advisors, with financial support from the senator’s political allies. Hunter became the CEO and brought in a salary of $1.2 million.

That venture did not pan out as expected, but Schrekinger argues that it taught them the value of Joe Biden’s name.

“Hunter took after his uncle Jim”

One of Jim Biden’s former business partners said that his role was to provide a comfortable “lifestyle” for the family.

The president’s brother resurfaced just days before November’s election when he was confronted over another deal involving Hunter — and apparently Joe — in China. Jim and Hunter Biden reportedly hired Chuck Provini, an experienced investor who subsequently asserted that he was brought in to provide distance from Joe Biden.

“They knew nothing about the hedge-fund business,” he said of the president’s brother and son.

Although Joe’s deceased son Beau was a reluctant participant in certain aspects of these questionable deals, Schrekinger wrote: “While Beau followed in Joe’s footsteps, Hunter took after his uncle Jim, becoming a Biden family breadwinner.”

The president’s carefully crafted image of an average Joe has served him well through decades in the public eye, but allegations like these poke increasingly gaping holes in that narrative. His critics might continue to question his cognitive acuity, but it seems clear that he and his family are skilled in the dark ort of reaping personal rewards from a lifetime in public office.
