While former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has often portrayed the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill as being a threat to democracy, newly-released footage of her daughter undercuts that narrative.
According to the Daily Caller, the video was obtained by the Gateway Pundit and was supplied to Aubrey Webb, who is defending former Proud Boys member Gabriel Garcia on charges stemming from the riot.
The footage shows Alexandra Pelosi speaking with Garcia last January about the events of January 6. At the time, she was making a documentary film about her mother.
During various points in the video, Pelosi can be seen expressing sympathy for other defendants and downplaying their actions.
"What did the shaman do?" she asked. "He stood there…. the shaman got how many months, 41, compared to 8… and I think the government… they’re going to get bigger."
Dubbed the "QAnon Shaman," Angeli famously wore a set of buffalo horns on January 6 and was ultimately sentenced to 41 months in prison.
"I know you’re not the bad guy," she continued, adding, "I haven’t found the bad guy yet, but if there is, I know you’re not the bad guy."
Pelosi then seemed to dismiss claims by Democrats that January 6 amounted to an insurrection, saying, "If there was an insurrection, you’re supposed to be in line marching… you’re supposed to have a plan."
