A newly leaked document has revealed the Biden administration was making preparations to evacuate Americans just days before Afghanistan fell into the hands of the Taliban, Fox News reports.Â
Axios first reported concerning the new document that showed the U.S. military’s leadership scrambling for a response on Aug. 14, just days before the military’s Aug. 31 pull out date.

A deadly lack of planning
Illinois Republican Rep. Mike Bost noted, “We already knew that the Biden Admin was unprepared for a withdrawal from Afghanistan.”
He added: “Now, new documents prove that Biden didn’t have a plan, even as the Taliban was seizing control of Kabul. 13 US servicemembers paid the price for his incompetence.”
Fox News reported the Taliban’s swift takeover left the U.S. vulnerable as it planned its exit:
“The Taliban’s sweep through the country was swift, with many areas falling without a fight as Afghan troops — many of whom had not received their salaries from the Afghan government in months — fled.”
“Afghan warplanes continued to hit Taliban positions in some areas in June and July last year, but it was not enough to stem the tide,” the outlet reported.
A defining moment
“Biden’s approval ratings still haven’t recovered from the chaotic scenes of those final moments, with Afghans falling to their death from military transports and a suicide blast that killed 13 U.S. service members and scores of Afghans outside the gates of Hamid Karzai airport,” Axios reported.
The White House strategized the basics of the evacuation from Afghanistan just one day before the Taliban seized Kabul, illustrating how unprepared the Biden administration was for its withdrawal from the country.

Mark Jacobson, a former NATO adviser in Afghanistan, told Axios, “That so much planning, prioritizing and addressing of key questions had not been completed, even as Kabul was about to fall, underscores the absence of adequate interagency planning.”
The disturbing news reveals Biden’s claims of an orderly exit were not accurate as the administration clearly struggled to coordinate its military departure.
