News polls show Biden’s popularity continues to fall

President Joe Biden has repeatedly insisted that he intends to seek reelection in 2024. However, new polling data suggests that doing so could prove to be a disaster.

Two new polls both put Biden’s approval rating under 40%

According to the Daily Wire, the president was confronted with a pair of surveys this week showing that his approval rating has now dropped under 40%.

One was published on Tuesday by Reuters-Ipsos, and it found that just 36% of adults approve of how Biden is doing his job, compared with 59% who said they disapproved.

It reported that Biden is underwater among nearly all demographics. Sixty-four percent of white Americans voiced disapproval of the president, as did 51% of minority respondents.

As expected, Biden saw his worst results among Republicans, with only 10% indicating that they approved of his job performance.

However, even members of the president’s party seem to be losing patience, as his support among Democrats has dropped to 72%. What’s more, Reuters-Ipsos noted that this figure represents a decline of four points from the week before.

Nor was that survey the only source of bad news, as the findings of Big Data Poll’s monthly “Public Polling Project” told a similar tale.

It stated that his approval rating stood at 37% whereas his disapproval rating was a whopping 60%. Further, a majority of respondents dislike how he has handled every major issue aside from COVID.

A mere 35% said they liked Biden’s approach to the economy while just 33% approved of how he has addressed crime and immigration/border security.

History contains an ominous warning for Democrats

The president’s record on foreign policy proved to be a disappointment as well, as only 33% approved of how he has managed America’s relationship with China.

That report also contained bad news for congressional Democrats, as it gave Republicans a 10-point advantage ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

Meanwhile, a polling aggregator maintained by the website FiveThirtyEight polling puts Biden’s average approval rating at 40.6%.

By comparison, Barack Obama’s average approval rating at this point in his presidency was over seven points higher. That year saw 63 House Democrats wiped out in what proved to be a massive Republican victory.
