A horrifying scene played out at a gas station last week when nine children were wounded in a mass shooting.

According to WSB-TV, the carnage took place at a Shell gas station in Columbus, Georgia around 10:00 p.m. on February 17.

Juvenile suspect identified as a known gang member

The station reported that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the shooting. One is 35-year-old D’Angelo Robinson Sr. and the other is a 15-year-old suspect.

Although authorities have not released the teenager's identity due to his age, police say that he is a known gang member.

Robinson has been charged with eight counts of aggravated assault while the 15-year-old is facing a single charge of aggravated assault. Additional charges against the pair are expected to follow.

Gang member accused of committing mass shooting in Florida

The Georgia gas station shooting came the same week that a 19-year-old Florida man named Keith Melvin Moses was accused of murdering a TV news reporter along with a 9-year-old child and a woman he knew. Moses is also said to have wounded two other victims.

According to Fox News, Orange County Sheriff John Mina said it is not yet known why Moses allegedly opened fire on the victims.

"It's unclear why exactly they were targeted. And, you know, certainly we're going to look into that," Mina was quoted as saying.

NBC News reported that Moses has a long criminal history and has previously been charged with grand theft, battery - domestic violence, and armed robbery.

Suspect told police he couldn't breathe

The network noted that while Mina described Moses as being a known gang member, last week's killings do not appear to have been gang-related.

Bodycam footage shows that when Moses was taken into custody, the suspect repeatedly yelled that he couldn't breathe.

The slogan "I Can't Breathe" has become a common refrain at many left-wing protests and was yelled by a group of rioters as they were being arrested in Atlanta last month.
