Actor Chris Noth’s talent agency has dropped the Sex in the City and And Just Like That star after allegations of sexual assault that Noth denies as false reports, Fox News reports.
Two women alleged that separate incidents with Noth occurred in 2004 and 2015. The women, known as “Zoe” and “Lily,” now 40 and 31 respectively, approached The Hollywood Reporter at different times in recent months and shared details about the assaults.
At least one of the women who accused Noth of raping her 18 years ago, when she was 22, said she received medical attention after the assault, and her boss confirmed that she told them that Noth had attacked her.
She said she didn’t come forward at the time because she thought her career in Hollywood would be over.
The other incident was more recent, allegedly taking place in 2015. Lily was 25 at the time, and said that she went to Noth’s apartment to discuss Noth’s acting career, but instead, he undressed and forced her to perform oral sex on him.
“He kept trying and trying and trying, and I should have said no more firmly and left. And then the next thing I knew, he pulled down his pants and he was standing in front of me,” she claimed.
As Fox noted, Noth released a statement denying the allegations as “categorically false.”
“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women,” the statement read.
Zoe Lister-Jones came out after the other accusations surfaced to say that Noth was inappropriate with her on the set of Law & Order, and referred to him as a “sexual predator.”
She said on Instagram that Noth once “got close to me, sniffed my neck and whispered ‘You smell good.'”
She also accused Noth of drinking on the set of the top-rated television drama. He has denied all of the allegations, calling them “entirely false.”
Noth has to be considered innocent until proven guilty, but it doesn’t make sense that three women who don’t know each other would make up stories about him and his alleged actions.
