There have long been suspicions that the White House has a mole problem, specifically with Obama administration holdovers. Now, one congressman says that there is more than a little truth to this belief.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, revealed that he has personally taken steps to expose spies in the White House, going so far as to repeatedly warn multiple National Security Advisers that the situation needs to be addressed.
“Den of thieves”
Nunes’ comments came this past Thursday during an interview on Fox News with host Tucker Carlson, where the discussion turned from the current Senate impeachment trial to spies in the White House.
Let’s not forget that impeachment was made possible by an anonymous “whistleblower,” who is now believed to be a CIA analyst who at one point may have been assigned to the White House. Then there is the case of Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, which is where Carlson began.
Vindman, a member of the National Security Council, testified during the House impeachment inquiry that he tried to raise concerns about national security following the now-infamous July 25th phone call President Donald Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This being the case, Carlson wondered how Vindman still has a job on the National Security Council.
“I have no idea,” said Nunes.
Nunes continued by pointing out that “Vindman, his brother who also joined the National Security Council, and others have ‘colluded and coordinated’ with the whistleblower who reported the Trump-Zelensky call and an effort to conceal details of that private conversation and others using a highly secure computer system,” according to the Washington Examiner.
“Get them out of here
With such people still working in the White House, Nunes told Carlson that he has repeatedly warned National Security advisers — starting with H.R. McMaster, then John Bolton, and now Robert O’Brien — that something needs to be done about the “den of thieves.”
“I have said this over and over and over again,” Nunes stated. “I said this to McMaster, I said it to Bolton, and I said it to the new national security adviser, O’Brien, that they just need to get all those people out of there.”
Nunes even gave some tips on what to do with the spies.
“If you were there and worked for Obama and you were a holdover, just, you know, get a used building somewhere on the other side of the Potomac,” he said. “Just get them out of there. They have done so much damage to the presidency. I couldn’t agree with you more.”
Indeed, President Trump has it hard enough without people trying to undermine his agenda right under his nose.
