Links to Obama, Clinton, Soros funding found in leftist advocacy groups urging advertiser boycott of Musk’s Twitter

A collection of leftist organizations recently urged major corporate brands to stage an advertising boycott of Twitter if its prospective new owner, tech billionaire Elon Musk, follows through on his vow to transform the platform into a bastion of protected free speech.

Musk called out those organizations and demanded to know who was funding them, and the unsurprising answer included individuals connected to former President Barack Obama, among many other prominent figures and groups on the left, according to The Conservative Brief.

Leftist advocacy groups call for advertiser boycott of Musk’s Twitter

On Tuesday, Musk tweeted out a link to a CNN article discussing a recent letter signed by 26 organizations that urged corporate advertisers to abandon and boycott Twitter if Musk proceeded to institute certain changes to content moderation and other censorious policies favored by the ideological left.

“Who funds these organizations that want to control your access to information? Let’s investigate …,” Musk wrote, and added, “Sunlight is the best disinfectant.”

Connections to Obama and Clinton

That CNN article reported that the collective of leftist advocacy groups asserted in the letter to corporate advertisers that “your brand risks association with a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health misinformation, and conspiracy theorists” if they continued to run ads on Twitter following any changes made by Musk.

The letter added, “Your ad dollars can either fund Musk’s vanity project or hold him to account,” and went on to outline a few major demands the corporations should make of Twitter that would be contingent on their continued agreements to advertise on the platform.

The New York Post sought to answer Musk’s query about who was providing funding to the leftist collective calling for an advertising boycott, with the three main groups behind the effort being identified as Accountable Tech, Media Matters for America, and Ultraviolet.

Accountable Tech, as it turns out, is a Democrat-aligned D.C.-based organization run by a pair of activists with ties to the 2016 Clinton campaign and the Obama administration. MMFA is a Democrat-aligned anti-conservative propaganda outfit also linked to Clinton and Obama, and Ultraviolet is a feminist organization ostensibly dedicated to fighting sexism.

Soros funding is also behind the proposed Twitter boycott

The Daily Mail also dug into the backgrounds of several of the other groups that signed on to the anti-Musk letter and, unsurprisingly, found that at least some were connected to progressive leftist billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.

Musk on Wednesday tweeted out a link to that Daily Mail article and wrote of its findings, “Interesting. I wonder if those funding these organizations are fully aware of what the organizations are doing.”

Unfortunately for Musk, those funders most likely know exactly what their money is going towards and are likely fully in support of the effort to try and stop Musk from transforming Twitter from a leftist-friendly regime that censors dissent into an open platform that guarantees and protects free speech for everyone.
