The old and now all-too-familiar saying, “Rules for thee, but not for me” was on full display by elitist Democrats and their celebrity friends once again. This time, it was at former President Barack Obama’s celebrity-packed, “scaled-down” birthday bash in which some 475 guests were present.
According to the Washington Examiner, Obama, who has used his mega platform in the past to advise Americans to wear a mask and practice social distancing, apparently tossed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest guidance out of the window, as he was caught on video hitting the dance floor and hugging guests without a mask on.
The video doesn’t lie
Ultra-popular singer-songwriter Erykah Badu posted video taken during Obama’s birthday party at his Martha’s Vineyard mansion, clearly showing the 44th president breaking it down on the dance floor and embracing his friends without a mask.

Badu later deleted the video, likely at the behest of Obama’s handlers, as the video clearly shows the former president violating recent CDC guidance urging all Americans, even those with COVID-19 vaccinations, to mask up indoors.
Other guests, such as rapper Trap Beckham, uploaded pictures and videos of the star-studded event, but later deleted the content, citing the “rules.”
“Had to delete everything due to the rules,” Beckham wrote. “It was epic for sure. If any videos surface, it’s going viral. He danced the whole time. Nobody ever seen Obama like this before.”
But it was “scaled back”
Given the controversy that erupted when Obama’s 60th birthday bash was announced, a spokesperson for the former president announced that the party would be scaled-back as a result of the resurgence of the COVID-19 virus, thanks to the highly contagious delta variant causing nationwide spikes.
“Due to the new spread of the delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends,” the spokesperson said, failing to mention that the party still had hundreds of guests in attendance.
According to the New York Post, some of the celebrities who reportedly made an appearance at the event included Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Jennifer Hudson, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Bradley Cooper, Don Cheadle, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Bruce Springsteen Erykah Badu, Steven Colbert, and John Kerry.
It’s unclear how many of Obama’s guests chose to follow the updated CDC masking guidance, but judging by the videos and pictures posted to social media that haven’t already been scrubbed from the internet, very few, if any, did.
Had former President Donald Trump — or any high-profile Republican — thrown a party with even a fraction of the number that attended Obama’s bash, it’s not a stretch to presume that the mainstream media and Democrats alike would have accused them of being “super spreaders.” Since Obama is a Democrat, apparently he gets to enjoy a free pass from any criticism.
