President Joe Biden’s open-borders-loving top immigration officer, Alejandro Mayorkas, made a damaging admission during a recent meeting with border agents.
Undercutting the Biden regime’s official talking points, the Cabinet member acknowledged the statistical reality that the border is the worst it has “ever” been.
Mayorkas makes devastating admission
Mayorkas’ comments were obviously not intended for the public: they were leaked to conservative outlet Townhall.
After some introductory bloviating in which Mayorkas acknowledged that Biden’s policies are “not particularly popular” with those actually tasked with protecting the border, Mayorkas received an earful from agents, one of whom turned his back on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief.
“The numbers are not where they need to be. I agree with that,” Mayorkas said. “Look, it’s worse now than it, frankly, has been in at least 20 years, if not ever.”
While Biden officials continue to deny it, their ultra-liberal immigration policies and soft rhetoric are responsible for driving migrants to storm the country’s borders in record numbers. More than 2 million were arrested last year.
In December, nearly 200,000 illegal migrants were caught entering the country, more than the previous three Decembers combined, according to The Daily Wire.
“Betraying the American people”
As chief of Homeland Security, Mayorkas has certainly taken a creative approach to defending the homeland. Indeed, many have been taken aback by the secretive, and seemingly deliberate, efforts of Biden officials to smuggle migrants into the country without the knowledge of the public.
A shocking, recently leaked video showed migrants being dropped off in the middle of the night at an airport in New York, thousands of miles from the border, where a federal contractor admitted that the administration wants to keep its smuggling operation on “the down low.”
“If this gets out, the government is betraying the American people,” the contractor said, according to the Daily Mail.
With the system already at its breaking point, the Biden regime is said to be preparing for another historic surge in the spring, when DHS anticipates as many as 9,000 arrests per day, Reuters reported.
Biden’s assault on national sovereignty has sparked national outrage, and some Republicans have suggested he should be impeached for it. With the GOP expected to take back at least one chamber of Congress in November, they may be challenged by their voters to deliver on those promises.
