Oil leaders argue Biden’s energy policies will make prices worse

U.S. Oil and Gas Association President Tim Stewart argued that President Joe Biden’s energy policies will make the energy crisis in America worse.

Stewart shared the comments during a Saturday interview on Fox News’ Cavuto Live.

Bad news

“I realize that the Secretary of Interior is very much on message with the rest of the Biden administration…which is we all pay 50% more for 80% less…she was very clear that’s what she was going to do for those oil and gas operators who were interested in doing work on federal lands, that we should be prepared to pay about 50% more in royalties and other fees that we already pay,” Stewart told Cavuto.

“At the same time, we’re only going to have access to about 20% of the current acreage that we have put forward to the secretary as potential oil and gas opportunities for us,” he added.

Gas prices have come down some at the pump recently, but it’s not due to Biden’s policies. Instead, he has opened the nation’s reserves, allowing additional supply by using the nation’s backup oil sources.

Hurting the poor

Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee agreed.

“It’s the poor and middle class who are paying for this war on American energy. We should not be bailing out Biden’s poor policies with oil from our reserves or asking Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, and Iran to come to our rescue,” Lee tweeted on Thursday.

The nation’s oil problems are not due to lack of access. America has sufficient oil right under its feet.

Instead, it’s the lack of production due to Biden’s climate change policies that are destroying America’s energy independence, with citizens making the least feel the pain the most.
