Outspoken Trump ally Steve Bannon swatted for second time at DC home

In yet another attack on one of former President Donald Trump’s most outspoken allies, former White House adviser Steve Bannon was reportedly the victim of a swatting hoax last week at his Washington, D.C. home after he issued harsh criticism of President Joe Biden’s speech slamming Americans he labeled “MAGA Republicans,” as Fox News reports.

The outlet noted that, according to the Metropolitan Police Department in the nation’s capital, officers responded to a call at 7:17 p.m. in which it was alleged that a shooting had occurred at Bannon’s address, and it was ultimately determined that nothing of the sort took place and that there was never any danger to the community.

Bannon swatted…again

Thursday’s so-called “swatting” – an incident in which a hoax call is placed to police for the purpose of harassment – was the second time Bannon has been targeted in recent weeks, with the Daily Mail having reported back in July that law enforcement officials descended on his property back in July while he was live on-air presenting his popular War Room program.

During that event, officers had reportedly been instructed to search for a man carrying a “high powered rifle” who was allegedly in the midst of a mental health crisis.

Once policed determined the claims to be unfounded, Bannon was seen entering the multi-million dollar home on A Street NW, telling reporters that officers had been “terrific” throughout the ordeal.

Even so, Bannon has been clear about what he feels is driving the swatting attempts, saying, “This is 100 percent triggered by the White House. The White House is trying to use this type of violence. They’re stirring up the unstable people on the far left to do this.”

“The calls are very specific and the calls are to trigger the police to use deadly force,” Bannon added ominously.

“A moral obligation”

If Bannon is correct that the swatting efforts are in direct response to his outspoken opposition to Biden and his unwavering support for Trump, his reaction to Biden’s Thursday speech in front of Independence Hall could well have been a catalyst for the most recent call to police.

Speaking on War Room Friday, Bannon said of the spectacle – in which Biden spoke menacing words while awash in foreboding blood red lighting – “That photo, that speech, that moment will live in infamy. No American President…in this nation’s history has ever given an address like that.”

“Our duty is now clear: this usurper must be impeached and removed from office immediately upon MAGA coming to power in January ’23.” Bannon added. “On this we have a moral obligation to every Patriot grave from the Revolution down to the 13 Honored Dead at the Abbey Gate,” referring to Biden’s calamitous 2021 withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

Bannon continued, “This has never happened in American history. And it’s directly what he’s done over the last 72 hours, everything from the Bethesda speech to last night is aimed very specifically at stirring up violence against his political opponents.”

The swattings of Bannon come on the heels of similar incidents targeting firebrand GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), one of which included a claim that a man had been shot multiple times at the lawmaker’s home. The subsequent revelation that the caller responsible committed the hoax to protest the legislator’s stance on transgender issues helps underscore the notion that Biden’s unapologetic targeting of political opponents is exacerbating what is a truly dark trend in our national discourse.
