Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a fiercely liberty-minded conservative, has long been targeted with leftist hate and even violence, and that continued this week when he was faced with yet another potential assassination attempt.
A suspicious package arrived at Paul’s Kentucky home on Monday that contained an unknown white powdery substance and a death threat that alluded to a prior physical assault the senator had endured, Axios reported.
Unfortunately, this incident is merely the latest of several instances over the past few years in which Paul’s life has been directly threatened by angry leftists, as was documented in a brief video created by the Washington Examiner.

Shootings, physical assaults, harassment
In June 2017, Paul was preparing to take batting practice on a Virginia ball field with fellow GOP members of Congress when a deranged progressive with a rifle opened fire, nearly killing then-House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA).
In fact, according to The Hill, Paul credited the pair of Capitol Police officers who were providing security for Scalise as saving their lives on the field that day, as the officers risked their own lives to engage the gunman and end the deadly threat.
It was just a few months later, in the fall of 2017, that Paul was physically assaulted and seriously injured by his leftist neighbor while doing yard work at his Kentucky home.
According to a Fox News report in 2019, the assault resulted in five broken ribs and lingering health issues, including multiple bouts with pneumonia and damage that required the removal of part of a lung.
Then, in August 2020, following a White House speech by then-President Donald Trump, Paul and his wife Kelley were surrounded by a mob of angry leftists who harassed and attempted to assault him, Fox 5 DC reported. The senator later thanked the several DC Metro police officers who closely surrounded him and his wife and provided a layer of protection against the mob’s furious attacks.
Social media death threats
In addition to those instances of physical attacks, Paul and his family have also faced a torrent of death threats and gleeful celebrations of those incidents by angry leftists on social media, as his wife recently lamented in a Twitter thread following the latest episode involving the suspicious package.
“I am sick of the hatred and vitriol from people who boast of their “empathy and compassion” in their bios. Rand will continue to stand up for our constitutionally protected liberties. He will keep questioning the “experts.” We won’t be intimidated. And yes, we have guns,” she wrote.
Little, if anything, has ever done about that, and the hateful messages and death threats, which Paul takes “immensely seriously” — even if Twitter rarely does — are likely to continue unabated.
