House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) went searching for words Tuesday after Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murdering George Floyd, but the notoriously “prayerful” politician put on a regretful performance that left many in shock.
Lifting her eyes to the firmament in prayer, Pelosi said, “Thank you, George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice. For being there to call out to your mom — how heartbreaking was that — call out for your mom, ‘I can’t breathe.'”
Pelosi thanks George Floyd for dying
Pelosi said that Floyd’s name is now “synonymous with justice,” but many were outraged by the implication that he had “sacrificed” himself, Fox News reported.
“Nancy Pelosi thanks George Floyd for being murdered,” Huffington Post editor Philip Lewis said.
“Ummm… he didn’t sacrifice his life… he was brutally, horrifically murdered. What the hell is this,” Hannah Parkinson, of the left-wing Guardian newspaper, tweeted. “Sacrifice implies he had a choice,” said LA Times reporter Melissa Evans.
Some mocked Pelosi as a clueless performance artist with a white savior complex, with self-described socialist Hasan Piker sharing an image of the Speaker, arms akimbo, in a Kente cloth from last summer’s protests.
It looks like Pelosi got a little too carried away with the woke pageantry, but she’s not the only white liberal falling flat on their face with over-the-top virtue signaling.
The Las Vegas Raiders left many scratching their heads with a bizarre post reading, “I can breathe,” in a play on Floyd’s tragic plea.
Later, Pelosi said that Floyd “should be alive today” in an attempt at damage control.
“His family’s calls for justice for his murder were heard around the world. He did not die in vain,” Pelosi wrote. “We must make sure other families don’t suffer the same racism, violence & pain, and we must enact the George Floyd #JusticeInPolicing Act.” One user replied, “You’re going to hell.”
Even by Pelosi’s standards, this is hamming it up just a little too much. She seems to have fallen victim to her own phoniness. Embarrassing.
