Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has become known in recent months for her almost militant stance when it comes to mask-wearing on the House floor. But when she’s off the clock, it seems the speaker isn’t so strict about the rules.
A photo shared on Twitter on Thursday showed Pelosi posing alongside billionaire liberal philanthropist George Soros and his son, Alexander. The three appeared to be standing outside, and none were wearing masks.
The photo was first shared by Alexander Soros himself, who wrote in a caption for the image, “In Pelosi we trust!” Take a look:

The photo of a maskless Pelosi was shared the same week that USA Today reported Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) had been hit with a $2,500 fine for violating the speaker’s masking policy in the House.
Greene is not the only Republican to be fined; USA Today noted that Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) was fined after failing to wear a mask last month, and Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ralph Norman (R-SC) each incurred fines in May.
Roy did not file an appeal with the House Ethics Committee and has instead suggested that he may wish to challenge the speaker’s mask edict in court.
“Filing an appeal to tyrannical overlords is a futile gesture, and — if successful — would leave one without standing to sue, should the mood arise,” he said, according to USA Today.
No mask for Nancy
Even as members of the GOP continue to fight Pelosi’s “tyrannical” mask mandates, the speaker has had to contend with numerous headlines criticizing her for making public appearances sans mask, even at the height of the pandemic.
Most notably, video surveillance footage emerged last year showing Pelosi not wearing a face covering while she got her hair done. The footage was shared by Fox News, which noted that the hair salon, located in San Francisco, was supposed to have been closed due to COVID-19.
“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” the salon owner, who was not the stylist who did Pelosi’s hair, told Fox News at the time.
The salon owner later revealed to Fox News host Tucker Carlson that she was forced to close her business after she came forward, saying, “I started to just get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, [and] all my Yelp reviews…[were] saying that they hope I go under and that I fail.”
