Pennsylvania Republican proposes bill to ship illegal migrants to Biden’s Delaware

President Joe Biden might find that an influx of illegal migrants being dropped off near his home isn’t exactly ideal.

According to the Washington Examiner, Pennsylvania state Sen. Mario Scavello (R) is proposing a bill that would haul a number of illegal immigrants who were dropped off in Pennsylvania by the Biden administration to his home state of Delaware.

The idea of such an action echoes similar efforts currently being undertaken in Florida, as there have been numerous reports of the Biden administration flying illegals to Florida, under the cover of night, over the course of the last year, without Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) approval.

It doesn’t appear as if Scavello is bluffing about the idea, either, as he recently made clear that he will work to get the legislation signed into law.

Fighting back

Sen. Scavello filed an official memorandum announcing his legislation, making clear that the government’s maneuvers regarding the transport of illegals into his state has left a number of residents uneasy and concerned.

“In the very near future, I intend to introduce legislation to address the influx of illegal immigrants being relocated into Pennsylvania,” the memorandum read.

It added: “This legislation is in response to many news reports and many concerned citizens who have reached out to my office regarding the relocation of illegal immigrants into their communities in the past, now and in the future.”

“The federal government has relocated an unknown number of illegal immigrants to states across the nation, including Pennsylvania, and at the same time they have failed to provide information that ensures the safety of Pennsylvania citizens,” Scavello continued.

Multiple crises

Scavello went on to make the case that dumping illegal migrants, especially in the middle of a pandemic, creates an actual public health emergency, among other safety concerns.

“The open-border policy of the Presidents Administration has created a health crisis as well as a financial crisis,” he wrote.

He went on to add that “states across the nation are being forced to pay for the reckless abandonment of the rule of law. What is most concerning is that Governor Wolf has jeopardized the safety and security of Pennsylvania residents by enabling this and by not acting on this, he is aligning himself with such policies.”

While it will likely be difficult to get a Democratic governor to sign off on such a proposal, it’s still significant, even if it’s only symbolic, for now.
