Pete Buttigieg did his best to bat away the rising concerns about President Biden’s cognitive fitness during a congressional hearing Tuesday.
The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana and Biden’s Transportation Secretary was asked by Republican Rep. Troy Nehls (TX) whether he has discussed removing Biden, 79, from office under the 25th Amendment with other Biden officials.
Buttigieg defends Biden
Nehls pointed out that Buttigieg questioned President Trump’s mental health in September 2019, saying that he felt “sorry” for Trump and that “our presidency is not in good shape.”
Buttigieg was asked to account for Biden’s concerning behavior, from shaking hands with invisible people to taking detailed commands on how to manipulate his body.
“Sadly, he [Biden] shakes hands with ghosts and imaginary people, he falls off bicycles, even at the White House Easter Celebration, the Easter bunny had to guide him back into his safe place,” Nehls said, the Daily Mail reported.
Buttigieg got testy over Nehls’ “insulting” questions and shot back with a rehearsed line about Biden’s recent bicycle fall.
“First of all, I’m glad to have a president who can ride a bicycle,” he said, taking a thinly veiled shot at President Trump.
Biden regime squirming
While Buttigieg’s zinger played well in liberal echo chambers on Twitter, in the real world, Biden isn’t doing so hot.
A majority of Democratic voters don’t want Biden running for re-election, and the liberal media that helped get Biden elected in 2020 have begun acknowledging two years after the fact that he isn’t fit for office.
Biden has continued to set new records of unpopularity, with a new poll finding that just 31 percent of Americans approve of his presidency.
With few supporters left who aren’t on his payroll, Biden’s remaining loyalists, like Buttigieg, have been left squirming as they struggle to deny the sad, obvious truth about Biden’s condition.
As Nehls continued to grill him on Biden’s cognitive decline, Buttigieg, straining to ignore the elephant in the room, claimed that Biden “is as vigorous a colleague or boss as I ever had the pleasure of working with.” Right.
