What is the White House trying to hide about President Joe Biden’s health, particularly his mental fitness for office?
It was finally reported on Friday that Biden had undergone a physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, but he did not have a cognitive exam, according to Fox News, despite many public examples of the president stumbling over words, forgetting things, and showing other concerning symptoms that have left some speculating about his cognitive health.
According to Fox, White House physician Kevin O’Connor claimed after the physical that Biden “remains a healthy, vigorous, 78-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.”
The physician’s report did indicate that Biden’s current medical conditions include “a-fib with normal ventricular response, hyperlipidemia, gastroesophageal reflux, seasonal allergies, spinal arthritis and mild sensory peripheral neuropathy of both feet.”
“Why did he fall?”
O’Connor has been Biden’s doctor since 2009, and said that changes in his medical condition include frequent throat-clearing, a stiffened gait, and “mild peripheral neuropathy” in both feet.
Clinical professor of medicine and a practicing internist at NYU Langone Medical Center Dr. Marc Seigel told Fox News he had concerns about the exam and its findings.
“I don’t like that they ascribe his gait issues to a broken foot. First of all, why did he fall?” Siegel asked. “They did a thorough neurological exam, but they also need to do a nerve conduction EMG, and they need to do an MRI of the brain and the spinal cord to try and explain where this gait problem comes from,” Siegel added, according to Fox.
Seigel also said that besides skipping the cognitive exam, they failed to do tests that could explain his apparent decline.
The Fox contributor said that normal pressure hydrocephalus, which presents with fluid in the brain, could explain the gait issue and also the alleged cognitive decline.
Biden also had a benign polyp removed after a routine colonoscopy, and he takes three common prescription medications and two common over-the-counter medications, Fox reported. Biden “works out at least five days per week,” the exam report stated.
Still, the long-awaited physical has left people with more questions than answers about Biden’s health. Chief among those questions: What is the White House trying to hide?
Fox News appeared to be the only major news outlet to point out that no cognitive exam was done, despite widespread concerns about Biden’s mental cognition. Even The Hill did not mention the omission.
