Former White House physician Ronny Jackson has not been shy about addressing President Joe Biden’s perceived mental decline.
During a recent podcast, the current Republican U.S. congressman from Texas revealed that former President Barack Obama sent him a “scathing” message in response to his call for Biden to take a cognitive test.
“Just the way he shuffles away”
Earlier this year, Jackson cited the president’s “clear mental impairment” as a reason for Biden to undergo an examination. Those comments in June led to a note from Obama, he told Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN).
“He just tore me up,” Jackson said.
The former White House doctor served during the previous three administrations. As for the current commander-in-chief, Jackson continues to maintain that he is “not mentally fit” for the job.
“All I know is that he’s got age-related cognitive decline, right,” Jackson said, adding that “you can see” the impact on the 78-year-old president.
“You don’t need to be a physician to look at him and to look at his behavior and some of the other stuff, just the way he shuffles away, stares off into space,” he added.
“Joe Biden is incapable of doing that job”
Jackson further pointed to the “double standard” evidenced in the mainstream media’s coverage of Biden and his predecessor.
While some media figures obsessively speculated about statements and actions by former President Donald Trump, many have dutifully ignored evidence that Biden is suffering from cognitive decline.
The president’s frequent moments of incoherence have even irked some of his own aides, according to reports, and he has repeatedly indicated that his advisers are limiting his access to reporters. Furthermore, he has spent more time away from the White House than Trump at the same point in his administration.
For his part, Jackson insists he is being attacked for pointing out the obvious, adding: “I’m 100% sure that Joe Biden is incapable of doing that job.”
In a June letter, Jackson and 13 other House Republicans made a public request for Biden to undergo a cognitive test, writing: “We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all presidents should follow the precedent set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities.”
