Politico has acknowledged large portions of the Hunter Biden story, which was almost totally ignored by mainstream media ahead of the 2020 presidential election, are, in fact, accurate.
In its review of Ben Schreckinger’s new book, The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power, the remarks offer a shocking confession for a left-leaning outlet such as Politico.
“A person who had independent access to Hunter Biden’s emails confirmed he did receive a 2015 email from a Ukrainian businessman thanking him for the chance to meet Joe Biden,” the report noted.
Politico added, “The same goes for a 2017 email in which a proposed equity breakdown of a venture with Chinese energy executives includes the line, ’10 held by H for the big guy?'”
Old news now true
“Emails released by a Swedish government agency also match emails in the leaked cache, and two people who corresponded with Hunter Biden confirmed emails from the cache were genuine,” the report read.
The reports were similar to those shared by other outlets months ago, prior to the 2020 presidential election.
Journalism would’ve been helpful last year. Politico quietly admits, yep. That Hunter Biden story was true. https://t.co/EXHblSAN8f

The admission from the outlet, which if it covered the story at the time could have had a major influence in the election, is a step in the right direction, but far too late, as the bombshell ramifications of the scandal that was essentially hidden before the election have already seemingly dissipated.
Then-President Donald Trump was often criticized by mainstream media sources for using the Hunter Biden story in attacks on then-candidate Joe Biden. Now, as with many other assertions at the time, his attacks are increasingly being proven true.
Even Hunter himself reported months ago that the laptop “could be his.” He didn’t want to deny it, but given the amount of damage the information would have done to his father’s political aspirations, he also clearly did not want to confirm the news, now or then.
“There could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me,” Hunter Biden said in a May CBS News interview.
“It could be that I was hacked. It could be that it was the — that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me. Or that there was a laptop stolen from me,” Hunter Biden added.
