A new poll underscores the humiliating, public collapse that Vice President Kamala Harris has suffered in recent months as her incompetence has become increasingly apparent to voters.
According to the Morning Consult survey, more voters now dislike Harris than like her, and she is less popular than Sleepy Joe Biden.
While 45% view Harris favorably, 47% view her unfavorably, The Hill reported, a downgrade since June, when the rating was split down the middle.
Voters don’t like Harris
Men approved of Harris slightly more than women did, and she was especially well-liked by Black voters, urbanites, and people with post-graduate degrees.
The poll is a stinging rebuke of a vice president whose rise to the role was clouded by partisan cheerleading about her identity in the press.
Experience has been sobering as Harris’ performance to date has left many doubting that she can meet expectations and defend the White House in four years, let alone serve as commander-in-chief. Another recent poll found that most Americans lack confidence in her to take over from Biden.
The Morning Consult poll also found that President Biden had an overall positive rating, with 52% of respondents rating him favorably and 45% unfavorably.
America comes to terms with overhyped VP
White House insiders are said to be anxious that Harris is too inept to challenge Donald Trump in four years as dysfunction and low morale have come to light that have led some in the Biden administration to describe her office as a “sh**show.”
Democrats may be learning that it takes more than sassy debate comebacks to govern a country as Harris’ stunning mediocrity turns into a genuine liability, with one Democratic operative telling Axios recently: “Oh, she’s f***ing up, maybe she shouldn’t be the heir apparent.”
One of her biggest screw-ups was an awkward interview that overshadowed her first foreign trip, in which Harris was unable to explain why she had then not yet been to America’s southern border. Within weeks, she scrambled to the border for a widely panned photo-op.
Has Harris reached the bottom yet, or does she still have some ways to go?
