President Joe Biden was quick to brag about his quick recovery after contracting COVID-19, but only a few days out of his first isolation, he’s back in.
According to Breitbart, Biden once again tested positive for COVID-19 after testing negative, thanks to a phenomenon with his treatment, Paxlovid, called the “rebound COVID.”
Official data suggests that 2% or 3% of people who take Paxlovid to treat COVID symptoms experience the “rebound” effect, but some doctors, anecdotally, are claiming the number of rebound events are much higher, upward of 20% or 30% by some estimates.
Fortunately for the president, his rebound event hasn’t caused him to experience COVID symptoms, so far.
Only a “small minority”
Biden announced his second infection on social media over the weekend, making sure to point out that only a “small minority” of people taking Paxlovid end up with a case of rebound COVID.
Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again.
This happens with a small minority of folks.
I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me.
I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.

Breitbart added: “The doctor said that Biden tested negative on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before testing positive on Saturday.”
“I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me,” Biden said as he entered his second five-day isolation period.
Plans to travel home to Delaware, and a trip to Michigan, were canceled as a result of his latest diagnosis.
Not long ago, Dr. Anthony Fauci made headlines after he, too, experienced the “rebound” effect from taking the medicine.
Interestingly, Fauci noted that his worst symptoms came during the rebound version of the infection, as he reported much lighter symptoms during the initial infection, opposite of what Biden has experienced, so far.
Still, Fauci praised the medication, and his multiple vaccines and boosters, for preventing what he believes would have been a much more severe event.
