President Joe Biden traveled to Capitol Hill on Wednesday evening and delivered his second State of the Union address.

While Biden was frequently applauded by Democrats, he often received derision from Republicans, with the word "liar" at one point being shouted out.

According to The Telegraph, that moment came when the president accused the GOP of wanting "to take the economy hostage unless I agree with their economic plans."

Biden alleged that this included allowing Social Security and Medicare to sunset, a claim many Republicans were quick to denounce. Among the most vocal to do so was Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

"Well, I thought it was pretty impressive that the president would enter the people's House and try to lie to the American people about the economy, the border, and even about the fact that he allowed the Chinese spy balloon to spy on America," Greene later told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

"But when he continued the lie, accusing Republicans of preparing to cut Social Security and Medicare, we couldn't take it," she explained.

"So I along with my colleagues were calling him out," Greene continued, adding, "I think I was just the loudest one because I stood up and screamed, 'Liar!'"

"The reason why I did that, Sean, is because they have used my image and my name as leading the effort in that, when we have not had one single meeting in the GOP Conference talking about cutting Social Security and Medicare," the conservative lawmaker declared.

"Joe Biden is a liar. I represent the American people, and I was honored to be able to call him the liar that he is in the people's House and not allow him to get away with it," she concluded.

Fox News reported that Biden was also met with harsh words from Republicans when he mentioned America's ongoing drug crisis.

After the president declared that "fentanyl is killing more than 70,000 Americans a year," some GOP lawmakers responded by blaming Biden's border policies, with one yelling, "It's your fault!"

According to Fox News, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that there were over 100,000 fatal drug overdoses in 2021.
