Over the last several years, President Joe Biden has become notorious for making bizarre and nonsensical statements.
That habit was on display again this week when the president mistakenly told reporters that he is suffering from cancer.Â
Biden links cancer to oil slick on his mother’s car window
According to Fox News, Biden made the gaffe while giving a speech about his climate change polices in front of former coal power plant in Somerset, Massachusetts.
Cancer? This is either the biggest bombshell in presidential history or the biggest gaffe. https://t.co/oFu1hH2gzK

Recalling his daily trips to elementary school as a child, the president said, “My mother drove us rather than us being able to walk and guess what? The first frost, you know what was happening? You had to put on your windshield wipers to get literally the oil slick off the window.”
“That’s why I and so damn many other people I grew up with have cancer and why for the longest time, Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation,” Biden added.
Fox News noted that the president’s words caused an immediate firestorm on Twitter, particularly among those on the right.
Among those who spoke up was conservative writer Chad Felix Greene, who contrasted how the media treated statements made by former President Donald Trump with those of his successor.
From the people who hyperventilated over demanding Trump told people to inject themselves with bleach, they sure are trying hard to avoid, ‘I and so many people my age have cancer because of windshield wipers cleaning oil off my car.’

Fox News host says Biden is suffering from dementia
Washington Post writer Glenn Kessler rose to Biden’s defense, suggesting that he was making reference to the skin cancer he successfully treated before taking office.
However, political consultant Ellen Carmichael didn’t accept that explanation, tweeting, “If he’s trying to connect non-melanoma skin cancers to his story about oil on his mom’s windshield, this would make no sense.”
For his part, Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued that Biden’s comments had nothing to do with cancer and were instead more evidence that he is experiencing dementia.
