Psaki claims Biden’s DOJ can be trusted to investigate Hunter fairly

Although these are said to be her final weeks at the White House, Jen Psaki is continuing to plug the administration’s often preposterous talking points with undimmed zeal.

At a briefing Tuesday, Psaki asserted that President Biden’s Justice Department can be trusted to investigate Hunter Biden’s business deals fairly, Fox News reports.

Fair investigation?

The president’s son is facing a federal tax, lobbying, and money laundering probe and recently paid a $1 million tax bill to avoid prosecution, the New York Post noted.

Asked if President Biden would support appointing a special counsel, Psaki replied that he has “never” talked to the DOJ about his family members. The president’s public stance that his son is innocent of wrongdoing won’t affect the DOJ’s political independence, Psaki asserted.

“Well first, the president has never had a conversation with the Department of Justice about any investigations into any member of his family,” Psaki said, adding the department “is independent, and they will make their own decisions.”

Many will find these claims hard to believe. After all, this is the same Justice Department that has pursued Biden’s political enemies, from close Trump allies like Steve Bannon to parents protesting at school boards, relentlessly.

Meanwhile, Biden has reportedly pressured Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute Donald Trump. But Psaki wants Americans to believe the DOJ can investigate Hunter impartially?

Doubling down

Psaki didn’t stop there. Preposterously, she responded “yes” when asked if Biden still claims, as he did during his presidential campaign, to have never discussed business deals with Hunter.

The claim comes despite Biden-friendly media outlets like the New York Times and the Washington Post recently admitting that Hunter’s notorious “laptop from hell” is real and not “Russian disinformation,” as Biden and his press allies claimed prior to the election in 2020.

Emails from Hunter’s laptop that were first publicized by the New York Post showed that then-candidate Biden — despite his public pleas of ignorance — had met with a Ukrainian executive from a company where Hunter made a lucrative salary, Burisma Holdings.

Hunter also appeared to call his father “the big guy” when discussing a deal in China that, according to a recent Washington Post report, netted Hunter and his uncle $4.8 million.

Apparently, the Biden White House wants Americans to ignore all of this and trust that Biden is the “decent” man the media made him out to be in 2020. Sure.
