Rams star Aaron Donald says he’s ‘at peace’ if he fails to reach deal with team

Los Angeles Rams defensive star Aaron Donald claims he’s “at peace” if he can’t reach a deal with his team in a new contract.

Donald shared the remarks on a recent podcast concerning his future with his Super Bowl-winning team.

It’s about winning

“It ain’t about the money, it’s a business at the end of the day,” Donald, 31, said on the “I Am Athlete” podcast.

“That’s what you’ve got to see. For me, it’s about winning. I don’t want to play football if I can’t win anyway, so I feel like … if I got a real opportunity to win another Super Bowl, then it makes sense to play. But again, it’s still a business. We’ve got to handle the business side of things, and if that wasn’t to get handled then, you know, it is what it is type of situation. I’ll be fine regardless,” he added.

Future plans

Donald is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and was part of the Rams Super Bowl win in 2022 before a home crowd.

The star says he is “a little bit addicted” to the feeling of a Super Bowl win, but doesn’t need football to “feel fine.”

During the podcast, Donald also announced he has a new deal to represent Kanye West’s Donda Sports.

Despite the hype, Donald and the Rams expect to agree to a deal to keep the star in L.A. for at least one more season.

Fans will soon know for certain, as minicamp begins next week for the Rams.
