Rashida Tlaib collected up to $100K in rental income after pushing rent cancellation

Far-left Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) loves to demonize landlords, despite making some decent income as one herself.

Even as she called to cancel rant, Tlaib made up to $100,000 in rental income during the COVID pandemic, Fox News reported.

Tlaib’s hypocrisy exposed

In the year 2021, Tlaib made between $15,001 and $50,000 from renting out a Detroit property, according to her latest financial disclosures.

She made the same income in 2020, bringing her rental income to somewhere between $30,000 and $100,000 since the pandemic began.

Starting in 2020, the Democrat sought to burnish her socialist credentials by introducing a bill to cancel rent payments and ban evictions nationwide for the duration of the COVID “emergency.”

The “emergency” has yet to be revoked over two years later, so Tlaib would have been missing out on a lot of money if Congress had taken up her suggestion.

“Our residents need help during this ongoing pandemic & this legislation seeks to provide that help to ensure our neighbors have the housing they need,” she said previously.

It’s different when they do it

When called out for her hypocrisy last year, Tlaib gave an evasive answer to the effect of, “It’s different when I do it.”

“There is no contradiction between advocating for an eviction moratorium and rental relief and having a great relationship with a long-term tenant in a single rental home,” she said at the time.

Hypocrisy in politics is not surprising, but does it get more hypocritical than this?

Either Tlaib is a martyr, who was about to give up her own rental property for the sake of the working-class tenants she claims to champion, or she is a hypocrite and a poser who never really expected her rent cancellation bill to succeed. The latter seems more likely.

After all, Tlaib and her fellow “Squad” members are the same Democrats who called for “defunding police” while surrounding themselves with armed security.
