According to a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), the “immigrant population” in America reached a new high in November.
“An analysis of the Census Bureau’s monthly Current Population Survey (CPS) from November 2021 shows the total immigrant population (legal and illegal) in the U.S. hit 46.2 million, the highest number ever recorded in American history,” CIS writes.
This 46.2 million, according to CIS, accounted for 14.2 percent of the American population in November, which the group reports to be “the highest percentage in 111 years.”
“The immigrant share of the population has tripled since 1970 and has come close to doubling since 1990,” CIS writes.
CIS goes on to highlight a major factor that helped to bring about the “immigrant population” record, namely, what has been going on at the southern border under President Joe Biden’s leadership.
The number of immigrants in the country grew by 1.5 million between November 2020 and November of this year after declining by 1.2 million between February and September 2020 as a result of Covid-19 restrictions.
According to CIS, between only October and November of this year, the total immigrant population here in America grew by a whopping 470,000.
CIS goes on to write:
In comparison to the 1.5 million increase in the immigrant population after Biden’s victory, in the year after Trump’s victory (November 2016 to November 2017) the immigrant population actually fell slightly. The policies and public statements of different administrations seem to matter a great deal.
It’s not slowing down, either.
A new report from the Princeton Policy Advisors predicts that, under Biden’s leadership, America is on pace to have witnessed almost 2 million southern border crossings during the 2021 calendar year. The actual number predicted by the group is 1.92 million.
Steven Kopits, the president of the Princeton Policy Advisors, explained that this would “set an annual record by a very large margin, coming in almost 300,000 above the next highest year, 1986, when 1.6 million apprehensions were recorded.”
Reports, indeed, indicate that the numbers for southern border crossings have been up across the board since Biden took over. His own Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just admitted that it apprehended almost 166,000 border crossers just in the month of November, which was a 140 percent increase over last November.
One can only imagine what the numbers will be after another three years of the Biden administration . . .
