After weeks of speculation, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden announced Tuesday that he had chosen California Sen. Kamala Harris (D) to serve as his running mate, The New York Times reported. And it seems he couldn’t have found a more perfect match.
Biden’s campaign has long been plagued by the former vice president’s gaffes and blunders, and a resurfaced report from Breitbart exposed that Kamala Harris has had more than a few humiliating moments of her own.
The report, first published in December 2019, breaks down nine times Harris messed up during her Democratic presidential primary bid — and that doesn’t even include her frequent missteps as a prosecutor.
Included on Breitbart’s list is an allegation from The Atlantic‘s Edward-Isaac Dovere, who reported in August that Harris’ team had apparently brought in a group of supporters to give her a “boost” at a speech in San Francisco.
According to Breitbart, “the individuals left as soon as Harris finished delivering her speech.”
“Kamala Harris’s speech at the [Democratic National Committee event] was boosted by a cheering section of about 40 people that her campaign brought in, erupting every time she hit a big line — and then that group got up and walked out as soon as she finished,” Dovere tweeted at the time, according to Breitbart.
Breitbart also included on its list an instance in which Harris suddenly began speaking in a southern accent at a primary debate in Georgia last fall. Harris graduated high school in Canada, The National Post reported.
Harris also had a cringe-worthy moment in September, when she reportedly told fellow Democrat Sen. Mazie Hirono (HI) that she was “f*****g moving to Iowa,” as Breitbart reported.
That remark hasn’t helped her garner support in the Hawkeye State, however, as Breitbart notes.
The bottom line
Of course, Harris’ unusual behavior may not end up being much of a liability, as it pales in comparison to her now-running mate’s record.
At various points during his campaign, Joe Biden has mistaken his wife for his sister, introduced himself as his own husband, forgotten what state he was in, and even told voters that he is running for a seat in the United States Senate.
Is this really the pair we want running the country?
