Cities across the nation saw rioters aligned with Antifa and other extremist groups wreaking havoc throughout the summer, as scenes of arson, looting, and beatings became all too common. But just because a Democrat is in the White House doesn’t mean the largely left-wing demonstrators are ready to back down.
Eight were arrested Wednesday in Portland after reported Antifa protesters clashed with police in the streets of Portland, Oregon, according to Forbes.
Video shared by Breitbart showed the reported Antifa members carrying signs and marching in the streets of Portland to, in fact, denounce the newly inaugurated president, Joe Biden.
In one clip, first shared on Twitter by The New York Times‘ Mike Baker, activists could be seen marching with a banner that read: “We don’t want Biden. We want revenge for police murders, imperialist wars, and fascist massacres.”
Violence in the streets
Other clips showed the aftermath of an attack on the local Democratic Party office. Windows on the building had been smashed and the walls were defaced with graffiti.

Forbes cited local reports that said about 150 demonstrators had taken to the streets in Portland. “Some were carrying weapons,” the report noted, and multiple buildings were damaged.
It all came the same day that Biden was sworn in as president, Reuters noted.
“The likes of Joe Biden”
According to Baker, demonstrators elsewhere in the city insisted that the “fight” isn’t over, even with Biden in the White House.
“The damage that Donald Trump inflicted upon this nation’s democracy in the last four years cannot be undone quickly, and it cannot be undone by the likes of Joe Biden,” one speaker recorded by Baker said. “So who’s going to do it? We are.”
Baker said the separate event was “celebrating Trump’s loss, but the group is calling for people to mobilize for more successes: Green New Deal, defunding police, Medicare For All, and more.”
It all just lends further credence to speculation that divisions within the Democratic Party are growing deeper and deeper — even as many in the media say it’s the GOP that’s falling apart. But if Biden really wants to unify the country, he might want to start with his caucus first.
