Back in 2020, Joe Biden was on top of the world. But as the midterms approach, his administration is a sinking ship, with demoralized staffers fleeing for the exits as Biden despairs over his growing unpopularity.
According to the latest unflattering reports of Biden’s troubles, Black staffers are quitting the administration in droves even as Biden spirals into self-pity over his failures.
Faltering Biden losing Black staff
An article in Politico appears to call into question Biden’s public vow to promote “diversity” and the interests of Black voters, who were a critical part of his 2020 coalition.
At least 20 Black staffers have fled the Biden White House, driven by frustration with a lack of opportunity and a sense that they aren’t being fully included in the administration’s day-to-day workings.
“We’re here and we’re doing a lot of work but we’re not decision-makers and there’s no real path towards becoming decision-makers,” an official said.
Biden’s longtime chief of staff, Ron Klain, is also planning to leave sometime after the midterm elections, according to a bruising NBC article on Biden’s growing vexation with his political fortunes.
With three-quarters of Americans saying the country is on the wrong track, Biden is “twisted” that his approval ratings are now lower than Donald Trump’s, a source said.
Pathetic Joe thinks he’s the victim
The article paints a pitiful portrait of a president who appears to have convinced himself that he is the real victim, even as Americans suffer from the highest gas prices ever and shortages of basic goods like baby formula.
“Biden is frustrated. If it’s not one thing, it’s another,” a person close to Biden said.
Biden has also taken to “venting” to aides that the American people aren’t giving him enough credit, and he thinks Democrats should go on television more to defend him. He is also upset with his aides for constantly correcting him, which he feels undermines the “authenticity that fueled his rise,” NBC said.
But it wasn’t “authenticity” that made Biden the president. NBC surely knows that. He squeaked into power with help from the media — the very same media that is now throwing him under the bus, it appears — and an unprecedented propaganda campaign painting him as some kind of brilliant statesman.
But even Biden knows he’s a failure: he thinks Democrats “haven’t landed on a winning midterm message,” another source said, and “he’s putting a lot of pressure on people to figure out what that is.” Pathetic.
