Republican calls to impeach Biden grow as nation, world unravel

Calls to impeach President Biden are growing among Republicans in Congress as the party looks forward to midterm wins powered by skyrocketing gas prices, an open southern border, and other hardships brought on by the far left.

A close ally of Donald Trump, Republican Jim Jordan (R-OH), raised the issue at a recent party retreat, the Washington Times reported.

Republicans embrace Biden’s impeachment

Biden’s reckless and seemingly deliberate negligence with respect to the southern border is a top issue cited by impeachment backers like Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Indeed, Republicans agree that Biden’s dereliction of duty at the border is probably the strongest case for impeaching him.

“Just look at the border,” Jordan said. “The president of the United States is supposed to enforce the laws along the border and they’re not doing it.”

Last year, there were over 2 million encounters with illegal immigrants at the southern border, an all-time record.

Meanwhile, Biden’s approval ratings continue to drop to new lows as Americans contend with the highest gas prices in the nation’s history, the worst inflation in decades, and the possibility of food shortages.

As the nation unravels at home, Biden’s foreign policy has been criticized as chaotic. In Poland Saturday, Biden called for Vladimir Putin to be overthrown, despite the White House’s insistence that his administration is not pursuing regime change in Russia.

America is back?

The increasingly unstable state of the country has many questioning the image of a competent leader that was sold to voters by Biden’s press allies in 2020.

After his dubious election victory, Biden came swaggering into office with the boast that “America is back” and an FDR-sized agenda that has since stalled. As his presidency settles into a trajectory of failure and decline, Biden’s rival, President Trump, is smelling blood.

“You could take the five worst presidents in American history and put them together, and they would not have done the damage Joe Biden has done in just 15 months,” Trump said at a rally in Georgia Saturday.

If the GOP flips control of the House in November, Jordan would be in charge of the House Judiciary Committee, which would draft impeachment charges against Biden. But he says the full GOP conference must be on board before moving ahead.

“The conference has to decide,” Jordan said. “You have to have complete buy-in from the entire conference and the leadership of our conference.”
