Republican Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson calls for Fauci to go to jail

Many Americans are anxious to see Anthony Fauci held accountable for his destructive response to the COVID pandemic, and Republicans are insisting that he will be.

Republican and former White House doctor Rep. Ronny Jackson (TX) told Newsmax that he would not be “opposed” to seeing Fauci go to jail, Breitbart reported.

Fauci for prison?

In an interview with Benny Johnson, Jackson said that Fauci should be charged for lying to Congress about his role in funding “gain-of-function” research in Wuhan, China through the National Institutes of Health.

“I want to know what he knew about COVID and when he knew it. I want to know what really happened with this gain of function testing,” Jackson said.

While under oath, Fauci has vehemently denied any role in funding such research despite evidence to the contrary.

Jackson said that Republicans will expose the media’s “cover-up” of Fauci’s alleged role in creating the COVID-19 virus.

“And I think we’re going to find out that he lied to Congress and the American people, and he’s going to have to pay a price for that. I mean, I’m not opposed to this man ultimately going to jail if this turns out to be the case and stripping him of his pension and everything else.”

Will Fauci face the music?

Johnson asked whether Republican threats to punish Fauci are more of the usual “bluster” many on the right have come to expect from GOP lawmakers.

But Jackson insisted that Fauci will pay a price for the significant “damage” he caused as the face of America’s COVID response, from a rise in suicides to the destruction of small businesses.

“He completely destroyed the trust and the confidence that the American people have in the public health system in this country and our federal government in general,” Jackson said.

As he prepares to retire, Fauci has insisted that he has nothing to hide and that the totalitarian measures he pushed in response to COVID have not “irreparably damaged anyone.”

Far from it, Fauci has suggested that lockdowns should have been “much more stringent.”
