Republicans prepare to investigate the Biden family after the midterms

Republicans hopeful of regaining the House majority are preparing to investigate the Biden family’s shadowy international business deals.

With President Biden’s political standing in freefall, Republicans are vowing to hold the embattled president accountable, Breitbart reported.

Republicans prepare

In an op-ed in the New York Post, the conservative outlet that publicized Hunter Biden’s e-mails, Republican leaders including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) promised to expose what the media have kept hidden since the 2020 election.

“A Republican majority will be committed to uncovering the facts the Democrats, Big Tech and the legacy media have suppressed,” he wrote.

While conservative base voters are eager for accountability, skepticism of the Biden family is now widespread. A recent poll found that a majority of voters believe Joe Biden was aware of his son’s business interests, despite his vehement denials.

E-mails from Hunter Biden’s notorious “laptop from hell” show that Joe Biden met with his son’s foreign business partners on numerous occasions. A Chinese businessman promised Hunter Biden millions of dollars for “introductions alone” to “the Big Guy.”

Republicans say that President Biden’s conflicts of interest are a national security concern. In a recently unearthed voicemail, Joe Biden reassured his son that he was “clear” after the New York Times reported on one of his Chinese ventures.

Cover-up?

Republicans have in recent days raised concerns about efforts by federal officials to protect Hunter Biden, whose finances have been under federal investigation for years. Banks have flagged over 150 financial transactions tied to Hunter Biden as suspicious.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), a lead investigator in the GOP’s Hunter Biden probe, said he received tips from FBI and DOJ whistleblowers that the agencies had covered up derogatory information to protect the president’s son before the 2020 election.

“Based on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation,” Grassley wrote.

Prior to the 2020 election, the Hunter Biden scandal was largely ignored by mainstream media outlets that sought to discredit the story on the misleading premise that it was “Russian disinformation.” The scandal has recently received mainstream media coverage as Biden’s approval ratings plummet.

A public accounting of the Hunter Biden scandal by a Republican Congress could further damage Biden’s already battered public standing — and add bi-partisan pressure on Biden, who many Democrats now find to be a burden, to resign.
